Maple Grove
If you’ve driven near North Arbor Lake in Maple Grove lately, you’ve likely seen the vacant land across from the library. That spot is one step closer to becoming the city’s newest cultural landmark.
On March 9, the Maple Grove Planning Commission recommended approval for a 23,000-square-foot performing arts center. Proposed by the local nonprofit Avalanche Arts of Minnesota, the project features a 300-seat theater designed to host everything from Broadway-style musicals to community lectures. While still in the early "concept stage," the recommendation is a major win for a project that’s been in the works for years.

CCX Media report on the
Medina
Further west, Medina is looking to the state to help with a more practical—but equally vital—piece of infrastructure. A bill (H.F. 4047) was introduced in the Minnesota House this week seeking $2.9 million for the expansion of Medina’s water treatment plant.
The goal? Addressing elevated manganese levels and ensuring the city can keep up with the residential boom. For residents in the Hamel area, this expansion is the light at the end of the tunnel for recent water discoloration issues caused by ongoing piping work.
Between the spotlights in Maple Grove and the pipelines in Medina, the "void" of local infrastructure is being filled one vote at a time.
