The official filing window for the 2026 Plymouth municipal elections closed at 5:00 p.m. today, finalizing the field of candidates vying to shape the future of the city.
On the November 3 general election ballot, voters will decide on four major four-year term seats:
- Mayor (citywide)
- At-Large Council Member (citywide)

Adéle Braun entered the highly competitive At-Large race, while Sarah Anderson—who previously represented Plymouth in the Minnesota House of Representatives for 12 years—entered the race for Ward 2.

At PlymouthMN.com, we believe an informed electorate is the foundation of a strong community. To help voters get beyond the yard signs and understand the specific platforms of those asking for their vote, we are launching our Elections 2026 coverage hub.
Following the close of the withdrawal period this Thursday, our newsroom will reach out directly to every finalized candidate on the ballot to offer an equal-opportunity, written Q&A profile.
Rather than cramming every candidate profile into a single, overwhelming summary article, PlymouthMN will be dedicating a full, standalone feature to each candidate who participates. We will ask identical, policy-focused questions to candidates running for the same seat, giving Plymouth residents a clear view of their priorities for our city's future.
If a candidate declines to participate or does not respond, we will still publish a profile noting their candidacy alongside a disclosure that they did not respond to our request, ensuring our readers have a complete and transparent picture of who is on the ballot.
All candidate profiles, election updates, and voter guides will be aggregated under the Elections 2026 tag located in our top menu, making it easy to find everything in one place before heading to the polls on November 3.
